The Caladium Way Residence explores how color, pattern, and thoughtful millwork can transform the most functional spaces of a home into some of its most memorable.

In the office, saturated green cabinetry creates a bold architectural backdrop against botanical wallpaper, while gold-veined quartz and warm brass hardware add polish and contrast. The combination gives the workspace energy and personality without sacrificing the storage and organization needed for everyday use.

The laundry room takes an equally expressive approach. Black-and-white checkered marble flooring grounds lavender cabinetry and nature-inspired wallcoverings, while brass details and a durable quartz work surface elevate the room beyond its purely utilitarian purpose.

At the entry, custom built-ins and soft robin’s-egg blue millwork bring order to the transition into the home while introducing a lighter, more playful layer of color. Natural textures and warm metallic accents continue the material story and help connect the adjoining spaces.

The powder room becomes its own jewel-box moment, pairing a rich botanical wallcovering with a fluted red vanity and warm brass fixtures. The contrast is intentionally bold, giving a compact space a strong sense of identity.

Throughout Caladium Way, practical storage and hardworking surfaces are balanced with expressive finishes and unexpected color. The result is a home that feels collected and personal—where even the everyday spaces are designed to bring beauty, character, and enjoyment to daily life.

Roswell Residence

San Gabriel

The San Gabriel Residence was thoughtfully reimagined to create a home that feels both elevated and deeply livable. The renovation focused on improving flow, functionality, and connection throughout the interior while giving the exterior a renewed sense of character and welcome.

Inside, the existing floor plan was carefully refined to better support everyday family life. The dining room was opened to the living room, creating a more generous and connected gathering space, while the kitchen was completely redesigned with a fresh, contemporary approach. A former laundry room was transformed into a new bathroom, and the laundry was strategically relocated to the hallway near the home’s three additional bedrooms—placing it in a more central and convenient location for daily use.

The home’s existing floors were refinished to restore their warmth and character, complemented by new interior paint and updated light fixtures throughout. Together, these details bring a sense of continuity and refinement to each space while preserving the inviting feel of the home.

The exterior received an equally thoughtful transformation with new paint, refreshed landscaping, and the addition of a new gazebo. These improvements extend the living experience outdoors, creating a welcoming setting for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the property.

The result is a cohesive renovation that balances thoughtful architectural updates with the comfort and practicality of everyday living—giving the San Gabriel Residence a renewed sense of openness, warmth, and timeless appeal.

Decatur Residence

Mid-Century Exterior Renovation

Located in Atlanta’s Lindridge-Martin Manor neighborhood, the Cardova Residence was a mid-century home in need of a substantial exterior refresh. The existing siding was dated, several pergola elements had deteriorated, and the connection between the house, pool deck, and surrounding outdoor spaces felt disconnected.

Delano Designs developed a cohesive exterior update that preserved the home’s architectural character while improving its durability, function, and relationship to the backyard.

The scope included new siding and exterior paint, rebuilt pergolas, enlarged wall openings with new folding doors, new pool deck pavers, custom privacy screens, fence staining, updated landscaping, a new pool equipment shed, and interior paint.

The larger openings created a stronger visual and physical connection between the interior and pool area, while the rebuilt pergolas, new materials, and landscape improvements gave the exterior a more intentional architectural rhythm.

The result is a refreshed mid-century home that feels more connected, more functional, and better suited to modern indoor-outdoor living without losing the character of the original residence.

Lindridge martin manor Residence

Blue Marble & Spanish tile White oak 5x7 Bath

This bathroom remodel transformed a dated space into a more refined, spa-like retreat. The project began with necessary subfloor and plumbing repairs before moving into a full design update with layered blue, white, and gray tilework.

A Spanish-style patterned tile carries from the floor up the shower wall, creating a stronger sense of height and continuity. Blue marble-look Italian porcelain, matte black hardware, oak accents, and a hex shower floor add contrast, warmth, and texture while keeping the space cohesive and calm.

Doraville Residence

458 Shannon Residence

The Shannon Residence was approached as a complete reimagining of a 1948 home—preserving the architectural elements that gave it character while fundamentally reshaping the way the home functions for modern life. The transformation centered on openness, flexibility, and connection, turning a once compartmentalized floor plan into a more expansive and intuitive place to live.

Through a series of carefully considered architectural interventions, the original four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was transformed into a five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence. Walls were removed to create stronger sightlines between the kitchen, dining area, and new great room, allowing the main living spaces to feel brighter, more generous, and naturally connected. The result is a home that accommodates both everyday routines and larger gatherings without losing the intimacy of its original architecture.

At the heart of the main level, the original brick fireplace was preserved and reinterpreted as an anchor for the newly opened living space. Dramatic porcelain with movement reminiscent of natural Pink Cristallo quartzite gives the fireplace a more sculptural presence, while the original brick is finished in a deep Rojo Marrón—a warm red-brown that carries through the home as a recurring architectural detail. Against a quieter backdrop of warm Alabaster walls, natural wood, and black metal, the fireplace becomes a bridge between the home's mid-century origins and its contemporary new identity.

The staircase received an equally transformative treatment. Once a confined passage between rooms, it was widened by strategically reducing adjacent closet space and reimagined as a central architectural feature. The original wood ceiling was retained for warmth and character, while new flooring, a streamlined black metal railing, and the continuous brick chimney create a layered composition of wood, masonry, and metal that visually connects the home's levels.

One of the project's most meaningful functional changes came upstairs, where a large underutilized closet was converted into a full bathroom. Designed with the comfort of a true shared bath in mind, the new space incorporates a double vanity and generous walk-in shower. Taj Mahal quartzite, warm-toned porcelain, natural textures, black hardware, and softly contrasting metal finishes create a space that feels elevated without becoming overly formal. What was once leftover square footage now serves an essential role in the home.

Throughout the residence, material selections were used not simply as finishes, but as a way to create continuity. Warm wood tones soften the home's cleaner contemporary lines, expressive stone and porcelain introduce movement, and retained architectural elements provide texture and a tangible connection to the original structure. New lighting, flooring, fixtures, finishes, and carefully integrated building updates complete the transformation while allowing the home's character to remain present.

The result is a residence that feels dramatically more spacious and functional without feeling disconnected from its past. Every change—from the expanded floor plan to the smallest material detail—was considered through the lens of how the home would actually be experienced. The Shannon Residence is ultimately a study in thoughtful reinvention: preserving what gives a home its identity, improving what limits the way it lives, and creating something that feels both enduring and entirely new.


Atlanta Residence

Chapel Grove Drive Residence

The Chapel Grove Residence was conceived as a study in quiet luxury, with a focused renovation of the primary suite and living room that elevated both function and atmosphere.

In the primary bathroom, floor-to-ceiling polished Andover White tile creates a bright, expansive backdrop, while misty blue cabinetry adds softness and personality. Brushed gold fixtures introduce warmth, and Blue Forest hexagon marble in the shower brings depth and movement to the otherwise restrained palette. A frameless glass enclosure keeps the room visually open and allows the stone, tile, and metal finishes to remain the focal point.

The adjoining walk-in closet was more intentionally integrated into the suite through the addition of French doors, improving circulation and creating a more graceful connection between the spaces. Together, the bathroom and closet now function as a cohesive retreat designed around the homeowner’s daily routine.

In the living room, the fireplace was reimagined with dolomite and brass detailing, giving the existing focal point a cleaner, more contemporary presence. Soft Dover White walls complement the stone and help the room feel lighter, warmer, and more spacious.

Throughout the Chapel Grove Residence, the design balances polished stone, soft color, warm metals, and thoughtful architectural details. The result is a refined transformation that feels elegant without excess—proof that carefully considered changes can have a lasting impact on how a home looks, functions, and feels.
Within the primary bathroom, the goal was to create the atmosphere of a private retreat. Floor-to-ceiling polished Andover White tile establishes a light, expansive backdrop, while softly colored cabinetry introduces a misty blue tone that gives the room a sense of calm and individuality. Brushed gold fixtures and hardware bring warmth to the cooler palette, creating a subtle interplay between polished surfaces, natural stone, glass, and metal.

The shower became a focal point within the new composition. A frameless glass surround preserves the openness of the room and allows the material selections to remain fully visible, while gold hardware adds an understated layer of refinement. Blue Forest hexagon marble underfoot introduces movement and depth, connecting naturally with the blue cabinetry while giving the shower its own distinct character.

Function was considered just as carefully as the finishes. The relationship between the primary bathroom and walk-in closet was improved through cohesive tile floors and paint, creating a more graceful transition between the two spaces. What had previously functioned as separate areas now reads as a more intentional primary suite—one designed around the rhythm of getting ready, unwinding, and moving comfortably through the homeowner's daily routine.

Beyond the suite, the living room fireplace received its own carefully restrained transformation. Dolomite accented with brass reinterprets the fireplace as a cleaner, more contemporary focal point without overwhelming the room. Soft Dover White walls provide a warm neutral backdrop, allowing the natural variation of the stone and the subtle metallic detailing to take precedence while making the surrounding living space feel lighter and more expansive.

Throughout Chapel Grove, the design relies on balance rather than excess: cool blues against warm metals, polished stone against soft painted surfaces, and decorative moments balanced by practical improvements to flow. Each material was selected not simply for how it looks on its own, but for how it contributes to the feeling of the spaces as a whole.

The result is a home that demonstrates how meaningful transformation does not always require a complete reinvention. Through thoughtful detailing, improved functionality, and a carefully composed material palette, the Chapel Grove Residence feels calmer, more connected, and distinctly personal—a refined backdrop for the rituals of everyday life.

East Cobb Residence

Altadena Residence

The Altadena Residence was conceived as a thoughtful reimagining of an existing Atlanta home—balancing its original character with a more open, contemporary approach to living. Rather than erasing the home’s history, the renovation celebrates it, using original architectural elements as a foundation for a warmer, more refined interior.

The main level was transformed into a brighter, more connected living environment through a redesigned open-concept plan and the addition of a new sunroom, allowing natural light to move more freely throughout the home. A completely redesigned kitchen and adjoining mudroom bring function and craftsmanship together, anchored by richly veined Blue Roma quartzite and carefully considered cabinetry. The material palette continues into the great room and hall bathroom, creating a sense of continuity from one space to the next.

Original details were intentionally woven into the new design. Exposed brick and warm cedar beams introduce texture and character, while the staircase creates a dramatic transition to the private owner’s suite below. Here, the ensuite bathroom became one of the home’s most distinctive spaces. Large-format Porcelanosa tile, exposed masonry, and a generous wet-room-inspired shower are paired with a custom tub filler that sends water down the opening of the home’s historic coal chute—transforming an artifact of the original structure into a one-of-a-kind architectural feature.

Beyond the visible design changes, the residence underwent a comprehensive modernization. New windows, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems provide the performance and comfort of a renewed home, while refinished hardwood floors preserve the warmth and character of the original interior. New finishes, lighting, paint, doors, trim, and thoughtfully selected fixtures bring a cohesive level of refinement throughout.

Outside, the transformation extends into the landscape with an exotic stone patio, refreshed grounds, and an existing greenhouse that gives the expansive backyard its own sense of destination. Together, the indoor and outdoor spaces create a home designed not only to be admired, but to be lived in—comfortable for everyday routines, generous enough for gathering, and rich with details that reveal themselves over time.

The result is a residence that feels distinctly its own: contemporary without feeling disconnected from its past, sophisticated without sacrificing warmth, and carefully restored to give a historic Atlanta home an entirely new chapter.

My Projects

This guest house renovation refreshed the home with a brighter, more modern design direction. White walls, updated doors, new lighting, stainless steel appliances, painted cabinetry, matte black fixtures, and LVT flooring created a cleaner and more cohesive main floor.

In the kitchen, a dark-grout backsplash, wood ceiling detail, and exposed-bulb pendant lights added contrast and warmth. The bathroom was updated with Calacatta Gold porcelain tile, Montpellier Oak wood-look flooring, matte black plumbing fixtures, and hexagon tile accents for a polished, spa-like finish.

Deck Rebuild & Paint

This deck renovation replaced the existing structure with a new outdoor living space designed for durability, function, and everyday use. New beam posts, pressure-treated decking, and updated railings created a stronger foundation while maintaining a cohesive look with the existing porch.

The original spiral staircase was preserved for character, while the lower deck was refreshed with string lights and swinging chairs to create a relaxed space for gathering, entertaining, and enjoying summer evenings outdoors.

Kitchen + Bathroom Refresh

This renovation created a more cohesive, high-contrast look throughout the home with crisp white walls, black trim and doors, and a bold mix of blue, white, black, and brushed gold finishes.

In the kitchen, two-tone cabinetry, white quartz countertops, subway tile, stainless appliances, and updated lighting brought a cleaner, more modern feel. The bathroom continued the same palette with black walls and ceiling, white subway tile, dark grout, a patterned tile floor, gold accents, and a refreshed vanity for a moody but polished finish.

Mid-Century Deck Rebuild & Stain

This deck refresh brought new life to an existing outdoor space through cleaning, updated lighting, and added greenery. The wood deck was pressure washed to restore its natural texture and give the space a cleaner, more inviting feel.

New exterior lighting created a warmer atmosphere for evening use, while curated plantings softened the deck and added a more relaxed, finished look. The result is a simple but effective outdoor update that feels fresh, functional, and ready for everyday living.

This project expanded the existing deck to create a more functional and inviting outdoor living space. Matching pressure-treated wood kept the addition cohesive with the original deck, while a custom L-shaped bench added built-in seating for relaxing and entertaining.

A new secondary door from the porch improved access and strengthened the connection between indoor and outdoor living. The updated handrail was painted to match the existing deck, giving the extension a clean, seamless finish.

This kitchen renovation updated the space with a more polished and layered design while keeping the overall layout intact. Calacatta Gold quartz countertops brought a brighter, more refined look, while Morela Cassis Stella tile added color and character above the range.

The island became the focal point with a muted navy finish and butcher block countertop, adding warmth, contrast, and function. Existing nickel and white hardware was preserved to maintain continuity, giving the kitchen a refreshed look that feels both timeless and personal.

Stratford Hall Residence

This kitchen remodel opened up the main living area by removing a wall and creating a brighter, more connected floor plan. A new island became the center of the space, adding prep area, seating, and a stronger focal point for everyday use and entertaining.

Wrought iron gray lower cabinets, black hardware, quartz countertops, updated lighting, and mosaic tile flooring brought contrast, texture, and personality to the kitchen while keeping the overall design clean and cohesive.
